First
Capital Corvette Club is based in Kingston, New York, the first
capital of New York State. Our members come from far and wide.
Until recently we had a member who lived in New York City and
drove up to the meetings. Members' addresses include Poughkeepsie,
Germantown, Marlboro, Red Hook, Woodstock, Saugerties, and Hurley;
just to name a few. We even have a member who lives in Virginia
and joins us in Carlisle every year.
Our
cars cover all models from a 1959 up to the brand new C6's.

To
become a member of First Capital Corvettes one must be able to
do two things at once, drive and look for a good restaurant.
This is why the majority of our members are couples, one to drive
and one to look. Spring and fall always find us with plans to
drive out for brunch.
If
you asked the female members they would say our motto was "DRIVE
TO EAT" (and sometimes SHOP). The male members would say
we "EAT TO DRIVE".
Meeting
are currently held at the Hurley Reformed Church the first monday
of each month at 7:30 pm. The meetings are very informal. Our
next meeting will be on MONDAY,
JANUARY 5, 2009.
Dues
are $ 25.00 per year, which includes the car owner's family.
First Capital does a brisk business in clothing items with our
logo. As a result we have been able to make donations to a number
of charities.
